Rd #85, ("Y") bear right on 85 and go to Co Rd 87; turn right on 87 and go to New Hope Baptist Church on the right side of road. It has recently been cleaned of underbrush and mowed . The large flat marble slabs are laying flat on the ground now-They appear to have been the top section of marble tombs which have been opened either by time or vandals. The marker for Mary M. Warren, wife of H. W. Warren and Amanda N. Boulware is all on one smaller marble marker-Amanda Boulware on left side and Mary M. Warren on right side- with a picture of a pair of clasped hands at the top. There is also an adult size marble tomb with no marking of any kind on it, as well as at least 12-15 other graves there, some with only rocks marking the spot and some with nothing marking the spot, only sink holes indicating graves. >From the road, looking into cemetery: Foreground, left-Mortimer P. Obituary of Hinchey Warren, above, from **(Obituary Courtesy of Judy Baugh) >From Alabama Baptist Advocate Conecuh Co., Ala. March 3, 1855 "Departed this life on Wednesday morning, the 28th ultimo, at his residence in Conecuh County, Ala., HINCHEY WARREN, ESQ. in the 68th year of his age. Mr. Warren was one of the first settlers in the county, a man of untiring energy, industry, and perseverance-eminently successful as a planter and agriculturist; and accumulated a handsome fortune by his own industry. He was a man of strict integrity, punctual in all his business transactions and in the true sense of the term an honest man. He was an affectionate husband, a kind parent, and a warm and faithful friend--kind and courteous in his intercourse with society, modest and retiring in disposition. " "In the death of Mr. Warren the community has sustained a severe loss, his family and intimate friends one that is irreparable--a glorious consolation remains; he died resigned to the will of his heavenly Father, and with a firm hope of a happy immortality. "Pain cannot pierce the passive breast, No sorrow there can dwell. The aching heart is now at rest. Dear lov'd one fare thee well."
