Andrews from The Evergreen Courant, Thursday, October 28, 1943 Joseph V. Andrews Dies At Montgomery Hospital Following a brief illness, Joseph V. Andrews, age 48, died at a Montgomery hospital at 2:30 P.M. Friday. Andrews, a native and former resident of this county, had resided in Montgomery for the past 20 years where he held a position as a special agent for the L & N R.R. Co. He served this county as a deputy sheriff at one time. He was popular among a host of relatives and friends here and elsewhere who are deeply grieved at his passing. The remains were brought here Sunday and carried to Belleville where funeral services were held at the Belleville Baptist Church at 2 P.M., conducted by Rev. R.D. Wright, assisted by Rev. W.F. Hughes. Cope was in charge of arrangements. He is survived by a widow and one son, Joe Andrews, U.S. Navy; two sisters, Mrs. F. Dagoff, Lynchburg, Va., Mrs. Edward E. Davis, Dallas, Texas; four brothers, H.H., J.S. and Ralph Andrews of Prichard, Ala., and W.S. of Jefferson City, Mo. Pall bearers were: H.B. Brown, O.S. Rollins, J.O. Fry, R.G. Kendall, Sr., J.G. Moore and Ezra Fowler.
