Andrews from The Evergreen Courant, Thursday, October 25, 1945 Mrs. Manie Andrews Dies At Montgomery Saturday The passing of Mrs. Manie Andrews, age 79, native and lifelong resident of this city, at a Montgomery hospital Saturday morning at 8 o’clock was the source of keen sorrow to not only her numerous relatives but to hosts of friends in this and other sections. Mrs. Andrews had been ill for about three months but her condition became critical only about one week before her death, when she was carried to the Montgomery hospital. Deceased was born, reared and lived her entire life here. For almost a quarter of a century she was a faithful and efficient employee of I. Long & Sons, Evergreen’s oldest business house. Because of advanced age and failing health she very reluctantly gave up her work about four years ago. Funeral services were held at 4 P.M. from the home on Rural Street conducted by a nephew the Rev. W.S. Guice of Montgomery, assisted by her pastor, Rev. A.B. Carlton. Cope was in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were former fellow employees: W.A. Suddith, P.D. Skinner, W.J. Millsap, W,J, Bailey, T.W. Dunn, F.E. Mills. She is survived by one son, J.D. Andrews; two daughters Mrs. Randolph Moorer and Mrs. S.J. Guy; one sister, Mrs. Sallie D. Guice of Atlanta; fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
