All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/al/alfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Dave Robison dave@oldbones.info February 4, 2018, 1:45 am Montgomery Advertiser December 4, 1918 PROMINENT CITIZEN OF CONECUH DEAD (Special to the Advertiser) EVERGREEN, ALA., Dec 3 --One of the most popular men in Conecuh county passed away this afternoon in the person on Henry Wright Dunn, a merchant here for twenty-five years and a public spirited citizen who had taken a leading part in all war work campaigns and patriotic efforts. He was a native of this county, 45 years of age, and was known to many people in the larger cities of the State through business connections being at the head of the hardware and motor car and supplies business which bears his name. In all his dealings he was a man of the strictest probity and he built up a large establishment here. Mr.Dunn is survived by a wife and five children, Joseph Dunn, who is a student at Auburn; Mary Virginia, Catherine, Wright and Robertson Dunn. He leaves three brothers, resident here, and one sister, Mrs. Picker, of Clanton. Additional Comments: In addition to real estate holdings and his hardware store, Henry was the Buick and Ford dealer in town. He was heading to pick up a nurse to assist with the family during the time of the Spanish Influenza. His car stalled going up a hill just outside of Evergreen, rolled back down the hill and was struck by the L&N train as it passed through town. He died 2 days later.
