This cemetery is behind locked gates and not open to the public. This trip was arranged by Evergreen Library staff memeber Sherry Johnston and Ward family that still have access to the property. After the cemetery visit, all were treated to lunch at the Witherington Home by Ed & Burke Witherington. Mr. Dan Brown and wife Eugenia Ellis Brown supplied a wonderful packed picnic lunch. 'Old' Witherington Cemetery Visit began at the Conecuh County Heritage Museum (Train Depot) in Evergreen, AL at 9 AM on Tuesday, May 6th. Coffee & Miss Eugenia's Brown Muffins were served. Additional Comments: This cemetery is located on land nearby to the early land owned by William Witherington, Jr. and Sarah 'Sally' Stanley.
