ALGenWeb Archive File Manager - Carolyn Golowka October 2000 "A RURAL TRAGEDY Rather a serious difficulty is reported to have taken place near Weogufka between John D. Thompson and Brock King in which the latter was seriously injured, and it was first thought that the injury would prove fatal; subsequent information is to the effect that the injured man will recover. A preliminary examination was held before B. W. Calloway, Esq., and Thompson was admitted to bail in the sum of $500 for his appearance at the next term of the circuit court. The details of the difficulty are not sufficiently known to justify a report. It is understood that there had been hot blood between the parties for some time and the neighbors seem to be glad that the results are no worse than they are."
