C. Hall, an old and highly respected citizen, of Buyck, Elmore county, passed away last Sunday night. Major Hall was one of the early settlers of Coosa county - taught school at Buyckville for many years, beginning his early manhood. He was among the first of the membership of Coosa Lodge F. and A. M. and was nearly always its representative at the meetings of the Grand Lodge. He served his people for a long while in the capacity of Justice of the Peace in which capacity he made them a capable and useful officer. We did not get the exact age of the deceased, but it was nigh near on a century. The deceased was a man of strong convictions, a strong mind and in former years an excellent school teacher. He has out-live most all of his early contemporaries and now he lays down the work of a noble life to reap his reward in the great beyond."
