The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Penson, the Pastor of the church. Mr. Ray was found dead in the field where he had been at work. He was a member of the Baptist Church and had been since a young man. His wife proceeded him a few years ago. The old must die; the young may die." Ray and his wife, Emma H. Ray, are both buried in the New Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, located north of Nixburg, Coosa Co., AL, off Highway #9. There are no dates on their headstones.
