W. SEARS DIED IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK, ARK. A wide range of friends and relatives in Coosa and Chilton counties were deeply grieved to learn of the passing of J. W. Sears in North Little Rock, Ark., last Thursday morning. Mr. Sears was born in Weoka, Ala., where he lived until ten years of age when he moved with his parents to what is now known as Sears Chapel community. His parents were prominently connected with establishing the Sears Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church and it received its present name as a recognition of their earnest efforts. For over thirty years Mr. J. W. Sears lived in the Sears Chapel community where he was will known and deeply loved by a large number of friends and neighbors. In 1891 he moved to Chilton County by where he lived until 1910. At which time he moved to North Little Rock, and lived there until his death. His first marriage was to Miss Lou Smith, and to this union were born two children, a boy and a girl, both now dead. His second marriage was to Miss Frances M. Logan of Poplar Springs community, near Hanover. She preceded him to the grave forty-one years ago. There are four surviving children of this marriage: Mrs. P. M. Moore of Clanton Ala.; Mrs. B. M. Maddox of Pelham, Ala., and Mrs. Hattie Rasberry and Mrs. John Lima of North Little Rock, Ark., with whom he was living at the time of his death; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Tommie Waldrip, better know to a wide range of friends as "Aunt Tommie" who resides at Hanover.
