STUBBS DIES AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS Mr. Collis Stubbs, aged 72, passed away at his home, Titus, Star Route, Thursday morning at five o’clock, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Stubbs, two daughters, Mrs. Cyntha Stroud, Mrs. Mabelle Stewart; three sons, Louis Henry, Willie, and Edgar. Funeral services were held at Liberty Hill Church Friday morning at eleven o’clock, with Elder E. B. Tucker in charge, Mathis-Jones Mortuary officiating." On his headstone: Clois M. Stubbs "Father", b. 1866 and d. 1939. His wife is buried near him. On her headstone: Nancy Emma Stubbs "Mother", b. 1876 and d. 1961.
