Thompson died of small pox the 2nd day of this month on the United States battleship, USS Washington, in the Pacific ocean while on a homeward voyage. Mr. Thompson was about 23 years of age and had served in the United States Navy about two years, the greater part of which time was spent in the Philippines. He is the son of Robert Thompson, deceased, and was reared at Hanover in this county. He leaves surviving him two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Peterson of Hanover and Mrs. Archie Crumpler of Gadsden, and also two brothers, V. H. and E. H.
