H. Wood was called from his earthly home to meet his savior, where we feel sure at the age of seventy-four he has just began to live again. Mr. Wood was a volunteer soldier during the Civil War and expressed a deep interest in his country during our last war, and if age and health would have permitted he would have been a soldier again. May 16, 1920, the death angels came and with wings of love carried the noble sprit of his dear wife, Mrs. Wood, to meet her Savior in whom her faith was anchored, and to be reunited with her companion again at the age of seventy-eight. Both were Presbyterians, having united with the church over thirty year ago. They were a father and mother to the community in which they lived, always giving good advice and will be missed so much. ONE WHO LOVED THEM." (1) (1) The Chronicle, Memorial , 28 May 1920, p. 5. Printed in Rockford, Coosa Co., AL. Microfilm: Located in the Alabama Archives and History, Montgomery, AL.
