Logan. – Minor heirs of Stewart Logan, dec’d. One metal clock, two beds & bed clothing, a few old chairs and some cooking utensils, also Two hundred & forty acres of land, viz.; S. 1/2 of S. E. 1/4 of Sec.20. The W. 1/2 of N. E. 1/4 , of S. 20. The S. E. 1/4 of the N. E. 1/4 of Sec. 20. The N. E. ¼ of S. E. ¼ of Sec. 20 – all in Township twenty-two 22 Range nineteen 19 in Coosa County, Ala. State of Alabama Coosa County} Before me, A. A. McMillan, Judge of Probate, in and for said County personally came Michael Fullmer*, Guardian of Sarah E., Benjamin and John W. Logan – Minor heirs of Stewart Logan, deceased, who after being duly sworn says on oath, that the above and foregoing inventory of the Estate or property, belonging to said Minors, is full and of all the property or Estate, that has come to his knowledge or possession. McMillan, Judge of the Probate Court, in and for said County. The petition of Michael Fulmer, Guardian of Sarah E. Logan, Ben. Logan and J. W. Logan, Minor heirs of Stewart Logan, deceased, Respectfully represents unto your Honor, that said minors are his Grand – children, and are now, and have for some time past, living in his house, and at his expense, as they have no personal property, other than that mentioned in the inventory, which is in daily use for their benefit. Your petitioner further showeth unto your Honor, that said minors own two hundred & forty acres of land, viz.: The S. ½ of S. E. ¼, the W. ½ of N. E. ¼, the S. E. ¼ of N. E. ¼, the N. E. ¼ of S. E. ¼ of Section 20. T. 22 R 19 – lying and being in said County, which in the opinion of your petitioner should be sold for the purpose of raising and educating said minors, as it is the only property as means, they have to obtain a living & education. In consideration of all which, your petitioner prays for an order and leave to sell said lands, that a day as may be set for the hearing of said petition, and that all such proof as may be submitted in the premises, and that all such proceedings may be had and such orders and decrees made as may be requisite to have said sale mad in legal form. The land office was Montgomery. On 1 Mar 1858 Stewart Logan signed for the purchase of 80.26 acres in Coosa Co., AL. The legal land descriptions: Nr. 1; Allquot Parts: W1/2NE; Sec/Blk: 20; Township: 22-N; Range: 19-E; Fract. Sect.: N; Meridian: St Stephens Meridian; Acres: 80.26; and County: Coosa. The land office was Montgomery. On 1 Feb 1860 Stuart Logan signed for the purchase of 80.26 acres in Coosa Co., AL. The legal land descriptions: Nr. 1; Allquot Parts: S1/2SE; Sec/Blk: 20; Township: 22-N; Range: 19-E; Fract. Sect.: N; Meridian: St Stephens Meridian; Acres: 80.26; and County: Coosa. The land office was Montgomery. The 1860 Federals Census of the Southern Division of Coosa Co., AL records him at dwelling #39 and family #36.
