ALGenWeb Archives File Manager – Carolyn Golowka ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Contributed by Terri Ballard, August 2000 Will of Thomas Carlisle Will Book No. 3, page 105 Coosa County Probated March 17, 1905 Know all men by these presents, that I Thomas Carlisle of Coosa County, and State of Alabama, a farmer being in feeble health, but of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. And as to my worldly estate and all property real, personal, and mixed of which I shall be seized and possessed, or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease, I devise, bequeath, and dispose thereof in the manner following to-wit: I do hereby nominate and appoint my sons George W. Carlisle and H. P. Carlisle to be the Executors of this my last will and testament. All my just debts and funeral expenses shall first be paid out of my estate by my Executors as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient. Then my Executors are to take possession of my landed estate consisting of the following described lands to- wit: nw 1/4 of sw 1/4, section 5, Township 24, Range 19 and S 1/2, sec. 18, Tow. 24, Range 19, less 20 acres, and my personal property consisting of Household and Kitchen Furniture, money, notes, and etc, and they are to take care of my beloved wife, Harriet Carlisle, see that she is provided with proper clothing, food, board, medical attention during her natural life, and at her death to pay all funeral and burial expenses, all of which expenses are to be paid out of my estate, and my Executors are to be reasonably compensated out of my estate for their services properly rendered as Executors. And after all above enumerated expenses are paid my Executors are hereby empowered to sell all the remainder of my estate both real and personal and to divide the proceeds equally among my bodily heirs. In case my beloved wife should die first then my Executors herein named are empowered to sell and dispose my estate and divide the proceeds equally among my bodily heirs.
