Transcribed from a letter in my possession. Written from Sanford, Alabama in 
1902 from Eugenia Bridges Jones to her mother, Elizabeth Moses Bridges of 
Coweta Co., GA.

Sanford, Ala.

Sept 10, 1902

Dear Mother,

I will write to you again, I wrote several times to you and Mollie but never 
heard from you. This leaves all well hope it will find you and all the rest 
well. Well I have no news to write, we have been having very hot and dry 
weather but it is a regular gale today with a little rain.

We all have done fine have had but very little sickness this year. Johnnie has 
not been sick any but he has had throat breaking out since the first of May he 
is better now. The same Dr. in Bainbridge that treated him last year is 
treating him now. He can hear real well but can’t talk at all. I don’t believe 
he ever will. S. B. is fat as a pig he can talk some.

Did Nat come to see you from New Orleans? I wrote to you and told you to tell 
him he might come by and see us for if he come he passed in 38 miles of us. He 
went through George Anna that is on this road. I received a letter from Dora 
last week they were all well. She is still at Onsley(??) I will send this 
letter to Senoia. I don’t know where you are at. Do they print a paper in 
Senoia yet? If so , what is the name I want to send for it then I can get a 
little news from home for no one ever write me any. Tell Dollie and all the 
family I would like to see them and I think of you all often. How is Emmet 
getting along? Write soon all the news, excuse mistakes from
