Roberts, wife of the late Levi Roberts, died at her home, Thursday, September 15th. Funeral services were held Friday and the body laid to rest beneath a large mound of beautiful floral offerings, a last tribute of love and respect, from a host of loved ones and friends. Pall bearers included Messrs. N.W. Veasey, H.B. Colquitt, I.S. Bowden, W.L. Stroup, John Bunkley and Charlie Dorsey. Mrs. Roberts was born October 25, 1850, and was married for sixty-seven years [sic]to Levi Roberts, who preceded her to the grave by two years [sic], four months and one day. She was a devoted wife and mother, and until her age and health prevented, she was quite active in the religious and civic life of her community. She was possessed of such a personality and disposition, that she was loved by all who knew her, and although she was not able to get out very much in the last few years of her life, she was always cheerful, and uncomplaining. Although she has gone from this world, the memory of her beautiful life will live on and be an inspiration to those who knew and loved her. She is survived by five children, two daughters and three sons, who are Mrs. Henry Parker of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; Mrs. Beulah Stroupe of Columbus, Ga. And Messrs. Daniel, Ed and Grady Roberts of this city, besides a number of nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home and interment near Hacoda. Elder Malone Meredith conducted the services. Bullard & Patrick Funeral Directors in charge. Submitter's Correction: Amanda and Levi Roberts were married sixty-nine years at the time of Levi’s death May 14, 1936. Levi preceded Amanda to the grave by one year, four months and one day.
