BARNES Death claimed H.S. Barnes, Veteran of World War One last Wednesday, May 13, at his home on Red Level, Route 3, following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Barnes was 44 years of age at the time of his passing and was a big farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral service was held from Buck Creek, May 15 with Rev. D. S. Stephan officiating and interment followed in the Buck Creek Cemetery. Surviving Mr. Barnes are his widow, two brothers and three sisters. The brothers are Willis Barnes of Bolling, Ala., and Will Barnes, of Ocala, Fla., and the sister are Mrs. M. Read, Tallassee,Ala., Mrs. P. Jackson, Luverne and Mrs. N. Hall, of Dozier, Ala. Active Pallbearers were : Messrs, T.H. Maynard, David Sandly, William Fowler, J.T. Chacer and H.O. Goodlett. Foreman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
