SIMS Mr. John M. Sims, a former resident of Georgiana, died Monday at Montgomery and his body was carried to Red Level Tuesday for interment. Mr. Sims resided for many years at Georgiana and McKenzie and was engaged in the mercantile business. He was an aggressive business man and did an extensive business. He was also a leader in civic and religious affairs. A very staunch member of the Baptist church, he lived a useful Christian life. He served the Baptist Church at McKenzie as Supt. Of the Sunday school for several years. Leaving McKenzie, he moved to Red Level and Graeville, and at the time of his death was residing with his son J. M. Sims at Montgomery. Deceased was a brother of the late James M. Sims of this place who died several years ago. He is survived by two sons, Mr. Lewis Sims of Red Level ad Mr. J. M. Sims of Montgomery and one daughter Mrs. Wilbur Smith of Red Level, Ala. A more extended account of the life of this worthy man will appear in an early issue.
