I will write a few lines. I was 65 years old the 4th day of August 1914 was born
in 1849.  I was born and reared at Mt.Ida in Crenshaw County.  At 11 years of age, I
joined the Methodist church.  At the age of 22 I married and moved to
Leon, Crenshaw county, where I have lived ever since.

Four years age last Jan. my husband died and I've been living with my children.  I
am now spending a while with my baby Mrs. J. D. Jackson of Highland Home.
I am the mother of nine children all living and all married except one son, and
all live in Crenshaw county except one.  So you see that I am not as old as those
that have written but have lived in Crenshaw County about as long as any of them.
I remember something about the war and learned to spin,weave and helped my
mother to spin and weave cloth for the family.  My father went to the war, so we
has a pretty hard time.
