Obituary Collection of Kathlyn J Folmar
FOLMAR, THOMAS BIBB (3-14-1876 – 5-4-1965)
	Thomas Bibb Folmar died Tuesday morning, May 4, at the Crenshaw County
Hospital, Luverne, Ala., after an illness of several months.  Until last year,
when he sustained a broken leg in a fall off a ladder in his business
establishment, he had been in excellent health his 89 years of life.
	Mr. Folmar, lifelong resident of Luverne and prominent business man, was an
active member of the Methodist Church, where he was a former Sunday School
teacher and Superintendent.  He had been a member of the Board of Stewards many
years and made an honorary member.
	Mr. Folmar had been owner of Folmar Hardware, where his late brothers, Robert,
George, and Jeff Folmar, and one surviving brother, Guy Folmar, were associated
with him for many years.  This old, established business is one of the landmarks
of Luverne and Crenshaw County.
	Funeral services were held at Luverne Methodist Church today at 3:00, with the
Rev. Fred Davis officiating.  Burial was in Luverne Cemetery, with Turner’s
Funeral Home directing.
	Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Zula Kirkpatrick Folmar, Luverne; two daughters,
Mrs. George Partridge [Foye], Montgomery, Ala., and Mrs. Travis Windham [Louise]
of Luverne; three sisters, Mrs. W. F. Parks, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. I. R. Reddoch
and Mrs. V. G. Perdue of Luverne; one brother, H. G. Folmar, Luverne; six
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 
	


Additional Comments:
Mr. Folmar was the third child born to James Madison “Matt” and Louella Balzora
Rodgers Folmar “Lou”.
