LUCY MOSES On May 20th, 1847, the subject of this sketch was born and at the time of her death was one of the few remaining original Crenshaw County products. She resided on the old Moses place about twelve miles north of Luverne on the Montgomery Highway. Mrs. Moses was twice married, her first husband being Mr. Joshua Fuller whom she married at the age of nineteen. After Mr. Fuller’s death, she became the wife of Mr. Jim Moses, a well known farmer of the County. This good old soul “loved her neighbors as she loved herself” and in her younger and more active life, she was generous with her kindly attention to those that she felt needed her assistance. In many respects, she was a remarkable woman. She was thoroughly devoted to her family and ready at all times to answer the calls of those she loved to the best of her ability. There was born to this mother fifteen children, seventy-four grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren, practically all of her descendents living in Crenshaw County. Mrs. Moses died at her home on September 13th and was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery the following day. Additional Comments: Mount Pleasant Church of Christ Cemetery Crenshaw Co., AL Moses Lucy J.
