Spradley "Uncle Billie" of Patsburg. He was 78 years old, and one of the best known citizens of that community. Loved, honored and respected by all who knew him. He was a friend to everybody and his passing will be regretted by many friends. He is survived by his widow and two brothers, Mr. John J. Spradley and Mr. C. T. Spradley. The funeral services were conducted at the Live Oak by Eld. B. J. Wilson of Glenwood and interment had in the Live Oak Cemetery with Turner Brothers in charge. The floral display was a tribute to his fine character, and showed the high esteem in which he was held by his many friends." (1) (1) The Luverne Journal and Crenshaw County News, November 6, 1929 Note: William I. P. Spradley (b. 14 Jun 1852 in Lowndes Co., AL and d. Oct 1929 in Crenshaw Co., AL) married Mary L. Nix (b. 3 Jan 1861 in ? and d. 5 Jan 1894 in Crenshaw Co., AL) on 18 Jan 1887 in Crenshaw Co., AL). She is buried in Live Oak United Methodist Church Cemetery, Patsburg, Crenshaw Co., AL. A slab is beside her with no headstone, which is most likely William's grave, since I, Ron Bridges, have found no headstone for William. William also married his deceased brother's (James Erwin Spradley) wife, Celia Ann Fuller (b. Abt. 1853 in AL and d. ? in Foley, AL) on 3 Apr 1898 in Crenshaw Co., AL. She is also buried in Live Oak United Methodist Church Cemetery, Patsburg, Crenshaw Co., AL. However, I have not found a headstone for her either.
