Note that D E Burks in the following letters has been identified as Dock Edward Burks. He was b. 1860, d. 1931, son of William Gilbert Burks. He would be a distant cousin of Rachel E Burks who m. Virgil Sizemore, son of George Washington Sizemore to whom these letters were written. This first letter would have been written 2 days before Virgil turned 3. G W would have had no idea that his son would marry a relative of D E Burks!)
