FIVE YEAR-OLD BOY STRUCK ON HIWAY

Bibb Boy Dies Enroute To Magic City Hospital

Larry Eugene Bibb, five year old son of Mr. Mrs. David J. Bibb, Lacon Route 1, 
was fatally injured Sunday morning when he was struck by a car driven by O. L. 
Goodwin, Sheffield, on the Bee Line Highway north, about 1 1/2 miles south of 
the Morgan County line, near Center Point.

The accident happened as Larry followed his 13 year old brother Richard, across 
the highway. According to witnesses, the accident was unavoidable, the driver 
of the car trying desperately to miss the boy who was knocked 105 feet. He was 
rushed to a Hartselle clinic, and was then placed in an ambulance to carry him 
to Jefferson-Hillman Hospital, Birmingham. He died enroute.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Dardis, southwest of Cullman, Rev. Dutch 
Coleman officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Peck directing.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David J. Bibb of Lacon. 1 sister Betty, 
and brother Richard, Lacon. and grandparents Rev. and Mrs. J. R. Bibb, Lacon 1; 
and Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Herring, Cullman.
