GARDEN CITY SOLDIER KILLED BY LIGHTNING Funeral services were conducted at New Bethel Baptist Church on July 18, for Clifford Elbert Greathouse, 25 of Garden City, who was killed on July 13 by a bolt of lightning which struck him while he was on duty at Camp Seibert, Ala., where he was stationed. Rev. J. L. Carlisle conducted the service and Drinkard directed interment. Surviving are his widow; his mother, Mrs. Vennie Greathouse; four brothers, Pvt. Hershel of Camp Shelby, Miss., Pfc. Glay who is overseas, Arthur and Junior Greathouse; and two sisters, Ethel and Elnora Greathouse.
