J.E.Z. Riley (no Picture ) 1905- 1906 (Mayor of Ozark) J. E. Z. Riley was born Noember 1, 1870, at Echo in Dale County. After attending the Dale Co. schoots, he graduated from Southern University at Greensbore, Alabama. He taught at Echo School for several years, was in the banking business, and served as a City councilman in Ozark at one time. Prior to his admittance to the Alabama Bar, he studied in the law offices of Borders and Carmichael. He was' engaged in active practice of law until 1924. For 35 years he was a member 0f the Board of Stewards of the First Methodist Church, serving also as Superintendent of the Sunday School. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ozark.
