Wife: Rachel (Woodham) Daughtry. They are buried at the Woodham Cemetery, on Dale County Road 18, between Newton and Ozark, in Dale County, Alabama. John Bryant and Rachel (Woodham) Daughtry's known children were: Robert Marion Daughtry, Sarah Manerva Daughtry (m. Daniel Franklin Stephens/Stevens) , Vermillion Daughtry (m. John Fowler), Mazie Helon Daughtry (m. James Boswell Atkinson), James Morgan Daughtry, Alexander Clayton Daughtry, Ella J. Daughtry (m. J. T. Cannon) and Unity Daughtry (she is not listed in his estate settlement, did she die young?). Estate of J. B. Daughtry, Deceased. Order setting a day for final settlement. Probate Court, Dale County, Alabama Regular Term, April 13, 1885 This day came R. M. Daughtry, Administrator of the Estate of J. B. Daughtry, deceased and filed his account statement and vouchers and other vouchers for a final settlement and distribution of said estate and the same having been examined and found apparently correct and is now filed in this court for the inspection of all concerned. It is ordered, adjudged and decreed that the 11th day of May 1885 be set for hearing passing and auditing said account and that notice of such settlement be given by publication in the Southern Star a newspaper published in Dale County, Alabama for three successive weeks previous to said appropriated day. It is further ordered that B. F. Cassady be appointed Guardian At Litem to represent and protect the interest in said estate of Ella J. Daughtry, who is a minor and resides with her mother, and who is the only minor interested in such settlement and that he have notice of his appointment. John Simmons Judge of Probate State of Alabama Dale County Probate Court of Dale County, Regular Term, June 1885 Estate of J. B. Daughtry Deceased This day being set to hear and pass upon the account heretofore filed by R. M. Daughtry as the administrator of said estate for final settlement of his administration thereof; now comes the said R. M. Daughtry and moves the court that his said account may be passed and allowed. Also it appearing to the court that the due notice of the time and nature of this settlement has been given by publication for three successive weeks in the "Southern Star" a newspaper published in this county; as is B. J. Cassady who was heretofore appointed to act as Guardian ad litem for and to protect the interest of Ella J. Daughtry the only minor concerned in this proceeding and settlement, now appearing in open court consenting in writing to act and contesting said settlement the court proceeds to examine said account and to consider the proof relating thereto. Whereupon it is shown and appears that said administrators received of the assets of said estate the sum of (blank space in document) dollars in money and that he has juetts, expanded in and about the costs charges necessary and incident to said administration of the sum of (blank space in document) dollars, leaving a balance of (blank space in document) for distribution among those entitled and said amount being full and correct:: It is decreed by this court that said account be and the same are hereby in all things allowed and passes as above stated. And it further appearing to the court that such decedent left him survivng, his widow, Rachel Daughtry and children. Namely R. M. Daughtry, S. M., wife of D. F. Stephens, V. wife of John Fowler, M. H. wife of J. B. Atkinson and J. M. Daughtry who are over the age of twenty-one years and reside in Dale County, Alabama, A. C. Daughtry who is over the age of twenty-one years and resides in the State of Florida, Ella J. Daughtry who is a minor and resides with her mother in Dale County, Alabama. The State of Alabama Dale County Know all men that these presents that We, R. M. Daughtry and his wife Lucy E. Daughtry, Mazy H. Atkinson and her husband J. B. Atkinson, who consents to and joins with her in the execution of this conveyance and V. M. Fowler and her husband John Fowler, consents to and joins with her in the execution of this conveyance for and in consideration of an exchange set over, transfer, assign, sale and conveyance of all the interest, right, and title of the following parties, viz: A. C. Daughtry and his wife A. E. Daughtry, to the following real estate to-wit:: SE ¼ of Section 25, the NE ¼ of Section 36, the E ½ of SE ¼ of Section 36, Township 5; Range 24, the SW ¼ of NW ¼, W ½ of SW ¼ Section 30 Township 5 Range 24, the W ½ of NW ¼ and W ½ of SW ¼ Section 36, Township 5, Range 25, containing six hundred and eight (680) acres more or less, lying and situate in said State and County and for the further consideration of the covenants upon the part of the said A. C. Daughtry and his wife A. E. Daughtry that they will allow Rachel Daughtry the widow of J. B. Daughtry to live with them and that they will take care of her and make the necessary provisions for the welfare and necessary sustenance of the said Rachel Daughtry for the remainder of her life, provided, however, she will accept same. We the said R. M. Daughtry and his wife Lucy E. Daughtry, Mazy H. Atkinson and her husband J. B. Atkinson, Sarah M. Stephens and her husband D. F. Stephens and V. M. Fowler and her husband John Fowler do hereby covenant to grant, bargain, sell, exchange, set over, transfer, assign and convey and does by these presents herein and hereby grant, bargain, sell, exchange, set over, assign, transfer and convey unto the said A. C. Daughtry and his wife A. E. Daughtry all and an entire interest, claim, right, and title in and to the following described real estate to wit: the NW ¼ of NE ¼, Section 25, W ½ of SW ¼, E ½ of SW ¼, NW ¼ of SW ¼ and SW ¼ of NW ¼ Section 24, all of Township 5 Range 24, containing two hundred and eighty (280) acres more or less lying and situate in said State and County and all of said lands consisting of and composed of lands belonging to the J. B. Daughtry Estate. To have and to hold the sate described real estate to the said A. C. Daughtry and his wife A. E. Daughtry, their heirs and assigns forever.
