Loftin, who is a resident of Dale County, in the State of Alabama and have resided in said state on the 1st. day of January 1899 and that I enlisted in the service of the State, or Confederate States, as a ' private' in Company B in the 63 Alabama Regiment in August 1964(another record gives the date as July) at Mobile, Alabama. I was discharged (paroled) at Meridian, Miss., May 28, 1865.I did not desert the service of the Confederate States of America or the State of Alabama. It does not say he was wounded in battle, only checkmarks. He is unable to make a living on account of age and general disability. At this time , I am 68 years of age and my post office address is Skipperville, Alabama. He signs his name as ' T.G. Loftin' STATE OF ALABAMA DALE COUNTY Before me, C.A. B. Edwards, a probate judge in and for said State and County, personally appeared T. G. Loftin, whose name is signed to the foregoing application and who is known to me, who is after being duly sworn disposes and says that the Statements made in this application are true and correct.
