On this the Twenty Seventh day of November A.D. One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty, personally appeared before me , a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid LEWIS MULLINS, aged Thirty five years, a resident of Dale County, in the State of Alabama, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical LEWIS MULLINS who was a private, in the Company commanded by Captian Steward in the first, Regiment of Infantry, commanded by Col. Hardman, known as the Creek War of 1836, that he was drafted in Fasoyth(Sic Forsyth) in the State of Georgia, on or about the first day of February, A.D. 1836,for the term of Three months: and continued in actual service in said War for the term of One month & a half and was honorably discharged at Columbus, Georgia on the fourteenth day of July 1836 A.D. That he never received a written discharge but was regularly mustered out of service as will appear from the muster rolls of said company. signed by LEWIS MULLINS ( very hard to make Lewis out of the signed name). William Scamell, J.P. (could be Scarnell) The State of Alabama~ Dale County. On this the 18th day of December AD 1852,- Personally appeared before me William Scamell, a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid- LEWIS MULLINS aged about 37 years, a resident of Dale County, in the State of Alabama, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical LEWIS MULLINS- who was a Private Soldier in the Company commanded by Captain Steward, in the drafted regiment , commanded by Colonel Hardman, of the Georgia Militia, in the service of the United States, in the War with the Creek Indians AD 1836, that he was drafted at Forsyth, Monroe County, State of Georgia, on or about the 1st day of February AD 1836,for the term of Six Months, to go to the State of Florida, but his services was not required there, affiant was called upon to meet his company at Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia on the 27th day of May AD 1836 to go into service at Girard, Russel County, State of Alabama, Affiant agreeable to orders left Forsyth,Georgia , 27th February 1836, and marched with his Company to Girard,Alabama, where he was mustered into service on or about the 1st day of June AD 1836, and continued in actual service in said War for the term of Seven Weeks or more, and was honorably discharged at Columbus, Muscogee County, State of Georgia on or about the 14th day of July AD 1836, as will appear by the muster rolls of said Company, Affiant never received any written certicate of discharge and never applied for one, as he thought it would be useless to him, he furthermore, wishes to state that he had Eighty miles to march from Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia to Girard Russel County, State of Alabama, also the same distance in returning home to Forsyth, Monroe County, Georgia, after he was mustered out of service at Columbus,Muscogee County, Georgia, which makes together 160 miles he had to march.
