Wednesday morning, November 26, 1884 Page Three Business engagement prevented us from attending the closing exercises of the fall term of our school last Friday. We learn from those who were more fortunate, that the exercises proved beyond all question that both pupils and teachers had ate no idle bread during the past three months, and were such as to give the most exacting patrons of the school entire satisfaction. Prizes were offered for the greatest advancement in penmanship during the term. The committee awarded the first, a beautiful gold pen to Miss Viola Grace, and the second, a handsome book to Master Joseph Adams. The prizes were delivered by Rev. Mr. Gillis with an appropriate address. It affords us pleasure to repeat what we have heretofore said in these columns, that our people are fortunate in having the services of such faithful teachers as the Messrs. Smith, and we hope that all will unite in giving them the patronage during the next session they so richly merit. The spring term of the School will open about the first of January and continue until some time in June.
