Reprinted Wednesday, MARCH 25 1998..19 OUR BOyS WITH THE COLORS CECIL N. LONG NOW AT CAMP ROBINSON Pvt. Cecil N. Long, who was inducted recently and whose address is Ozark route 1, has been assigned for training to the Medical Replacement Training Center at Camp Robinsen, Ark. His training will embrace 11 weeks, after which he will be assigned for duty to some Medical Department organization. JAMES HUGH BYRD RETURNS TO CANAL ZONE James Hugh Byrd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Byrd, has returned to his post in the Canal Zone. He has the rating now of 3rd Class Petty Officer and a perfect record for the time he has served the U. S. Navy. For this perfect record he received a 30-day leave to visit his parents in Ozark. He also visited his brother, Dean Byrd in Camp Sibert, Gadsden, Ala. JOHN A. SANSBURY BEGINS CADET TRAINING John A. Sansbury, son of Mrs. Mertie Sansbury and the late George C. Sansbury, of Daleville, was ordered to report for duty, March llth at the Nashville, Tenn., Army Air Center. He was accepted for Aviation Cadet Training in September of last year. He graduated from the Daleville high school and for the past two years was employed by Civil Service at Fort Benning, Ga. PVT. NATHAN SCHAFFER PROMOTED TO CORPORAL By order of Colonel Cornelius E. O'Connor, Air Corps, Commanding Officer, Daniel Field, Augusta, Georgia, Pvt. Nathan Schaffer, son of B. Schaffer, Ozark, Ala., has been promoted from private to corporal. Cpl. Schaffer is in the 21st Air Base Squadron at the southeastern Army Air Base. Before entering the Army on May 7, 1942, Cpl. Schaffer was employed by B. Schaffer, Ozark, Ala. He is a graduate of Dale County High School, and attended CaStle Heights Military Academy. Lebanon, Tenn., and the University of Alabama.
