Another Murder

Frank Beverett  (col) and his wife who live near Echo, had a fuss last Thursday
at their home, Frank knocking his wife down and abusing her terribly; whereupon
she made for the gun and shot him in the stomach.  He lived a couple of days and
died.  His wife is now lodged in the county jail upon the charge of murder.  She
says she is very sorry that she committed such an offense, and she did not
really intend shooting him, but in the melee the gun went off accidentally.  But
from the community in which they lived we learn that she really intended killing
him, as they never lived happily together.
