Wednesday, June 17, 1885 Page Three Death of an Old Citizen We regret to chronicle the death of Wm. L. Clark, which sad event occurred at his home in Clopton, after a long and lingering illness of near twelve months duration, the terminus of which was a paralytic stroke, which his feeble constitution was unable to survive. Mr. Clark had attained the ripe old age of 78 years, the last 38 of which he had been a resident of Clopton, where he was highly respected by all who knew him. One of the sublimest things in his nature was the moral grandeur of his independent integrity. Thus has passed away another one of our good old pioneer settlers, who leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his loss, and to them we extend our heartfelt condolence.
