Funeral Services For R. A. Dowling, Sr. Sunday Afternoon; Mr. R. A. Dowling, Sr., widely known Dale County citizen, farmer and merchant died at his home in Pinckard last Friday, December, 26, following a long illness. Mr. Dowling. a life long resident of Dale County, held extensive farming interests in this area, He was also one of the founders of the City National Bank of Dothan and served, as vice president and director of the bank. Funeral services were held at the Pinckard Methodist Church, of which he was a loyal member Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The body lay in state from 12- 30 P.M. until time of the funeral. Burial followed in the Pinckard cemetery with Holman Funeral Home in charge, Members of the Men's Bible Class of Pinckard Methodist church were active pallbearers and Directors of the City National Bank of Dothan were honorary pallbearers. He is survived by his widow. Mrs. Cona York Dowling, two sons, Noel M. Dowling, Pinckard and R. A. Dowling, Jr., Dortan, four daughters, Mrs. Helen D. Stapleton. Mrs. Frank King, Mrs. Ennis Gibbons and Mrs. Martin Price all of pinckard a brother H. H. Dowling, Pinckard, two sisters, Mrs. Lottie D.Murphey, Dothan, and Mrs. C.E.
