  John Carroll Dies May 2

  John Branch Carroll, 60, prominent Ozark businessman, died last Thursday 
morning in the Dale Counly Hospital following a lingering illness.
  Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Holman Funeral Home Chapel 
with the Rev. Marshall Ford, pastor of the First Methodist Church 
officiating.   Interment was in Westview Cemetery directed by Holman Funeral 
Home.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Powell Carroll, Ozark; one daughter, Mrs. 
Sam Domincy, Ozark; two sons, Ben Carroll, Brimingham and Marvin Carroll, 
Montgomery; his mother,  Mrs.  Marvin  Carroll, Ozark: four sisters, Mrs. 
Arthur Kuhn, Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Arthur D. Walden, Headland, Ala., Mrs. A. 
L. Byrd
and Mrs. Charles Lisenby, both of Ozark; one grandson, John Branch Carroll, 
Birmingham.
  Mr. Carroll was born and reared in Ozark, the son of Mrs. Lula Law Mixson Car-
roll and the late Rev. Marvin Carroll, he received his early education in the 
schools of Ozark and graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan in Winchester, Ky.
  Following his graduation he held positions in Akron, Ohio, and New York City 
for a short time, returning to Ozark to become associated wilh the M.0. Carroll 
Grocery Co.
  He held a key position with this firm for the past 36 years and at the time 
of his death was the senior member.
  He was a member of the First Methodist Church.
