Reprinted Nov. 11, 1998. Mrs. Dowling Dies In Pinckard Mrs. N. B. Dowling, 85 prominent Pinckard resident died Sunday night at her home following a short Illness. She, was one of the oldest and most highly esteemed citizens of that section having made her home there for the past 65 years. She was an active member of the Pinckard Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at the residence Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. E. H. Brown and Rev. P. W. Lett, officiating. Burial was in the Claybank cemetery with Holman Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Noel Dowling, Robert Ramsey, Richard Ramsey, Charles Murphy, Earl Stapleton, J. T. McMullen, Ewell Towers and Jud Bentley. She is survived by two sons, H. H. Dowling and R. A. Dowling, Pinckard, three daughters. Mrs. R. H. Ramsey and Mrs. C. D. Murphey, Dothan and Mrs. C. E. McCarn, of Jacksonville, Fla., one sister, Mrs. H. L. Paulk, Hartford, 18 grand children and 13 great grand children, to all of whom the Star extends sympathy in their great loss. * Elizabeth Wells Dowling b.June 25, 1853 d. Oct. 31, 1938.
