Dr. M. S. Esslinger  Dies At 83 Sunday

  Dr. Monroe S. Esslinger, 83, of 437 Daleville Street, died Sunday, September 
17, in the Dale County Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services 
were held Tuesday 10 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. 
Rex Mixson and Dewey Fleming officiating. Burial followed in the Westview 
Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home directing.
  Dr. Esslinger was a retired Veterinarian having served this area many years. 
He was graduated from the Auburn School of Veterinary Medicine. While at Auburn 
he was a member of the Auburn football team during the seasons of 1911-12-13. 
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a Mason and a veteran of 
World War I.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mable Esslinger, Ozark; three brothers, 
Jackie Lee Esslinger, La Mesa, New Mexico, Tom Esslinger, Dallas, Bill 
Esslinger, Huntsville;  three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
