Mike Sollie, Jr., Local Attorney, Taken By Death Prominent Lawyer Passes Away At Dothan Hospital Hon. Mike Sollie, Jr., age 48, of this city and a widely known Southeast Alabama attorney, died In a Dothan hospital early Wednesday morning following an illness of several years duration. His death was attributed to high blood pressure, and although his ill health was known to his many friends news of is death cast a pall of sadness over the entire community. A native of Ozark, Mr. Sollie was almost as well known throughout Southeast Alabama, where he practiced law, as he was in his home town. He was associated in the law practice with his father, Mike Sollie, Jr. Mr. Sollie was born at Ozark In 1890, and attended the public schools of this city, later entering the University of Alabama where he graduated in law. He was admitted to the bar in 1915 and after practicing for a short period enlisted in the army and saw active service during the World War. After returning from the war, he entered the practice with his father. Mr. Sollie was active in the business and civic affairs of Ozark. He served for a number of years as a member of the City Board of Education and during his term of office the present city school building was constructed. He was a Steward in the Ozark Methodist church and a loyal member. He was interested in the growth and development of his home town and was among the city's most public spirited citizens. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mary Alice Sollie and three sons, James Jr., Joe Frank and Mike Sollie, III, all of Ozark; and his father. Funeral services were held this afternoon from the family residence Dr. P. S. Hudson and Rev. A. C. Bowen officiating. Holman Funeral Home directing.' Pall bearers were Joel, Jim, Cecil Huey and S.
