Clopton, Ala., June 10, 1885

Oscar Powell died last Sunday evening of consumption, and was buried Monday
evening following in the cemetery at this place.  He has no doubt gone to a
better world than this.  He was a sober, quiet, truthful and Christian young man
and had none of the wild, rowdy, reckless qualities characteristic in most young
men.
