W. P. Price Dies At Home Following LONG ILLNESS William Porter (Doc) Price, '70, died at his home at 507 Daleville St., early Tuesday night following a long illness. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Ozark Baptist Church, the Rev. L. Don Miley officiating. Burial was in Claybank Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home officiating. Born in Columbians, Ala., Mr. Price spent most of his life in Ozark and for many years was prominently associated in the city's business, civic and religious activiies. He was a Deacon in the Baptist Church for 42 years and was a carter member of the Baraca Class. He was in the grocery business here for a number of year's and had been associated with Snellgrove Dry Goods from 1910 until ill health forced him to retire three years ago. He served two terms as a member of the City Council. Active pall bearers were Abraham Saliba, Sam Snellgrove, Glennie Snellgrove, Durwood Deloney, John Douglas, Ralph Valentine, Emerson Valentine and Bob Fuqua. Honorary pall bearers were C. 0. Stokes, Louie Tamplin, Walter Edwards, W. V. Drew, M. S. Esslinger, W. C. Andrews, Ralph Holman, William Kingsley, Will McSwean, Dr. N. W. Holman, Dr. G.R. Smith, and Hoyt Searcy. Deacons of the Baptist Church and members of the Baraca Class were also honorary pall bearers. Surviving are the widow, Susie Martin Price of Ozark; four sons, W. P. Price, Jr. of Charlotte, N. C.; Martin Price of Pinckard; Glenn Price of Montgomery; and John S. (Buddy) Price of Ozark and the University of Alabama; one daughter Mrs. Dorothy Mullins of Ozark; two brothers, J. E. Price of Birmingham; and T. A. Price of Charlotte, N. C.; and several grandchildren. *W.P. Price, b May 19, 1887, d Feb.4, 1958. * Susie Martin Price b Oct. 26, 1896 d May 1, 1976.
