thirty two men that went in there was but twelve that could fall in, and Gabe 
SMITH was woonded in the hans, and Elias RILEY was woond in the head and died 
on the march about 10 days later, that left but eleven.   But many of the 
company were in the hospitals when we started or had fell out on the march 
through Tenn. And Ky.
  When we got back south they came to us.
  While Perryville Ky, was a terrible fierce battle thare was not many men 
engaged  
{ Lieut. CHALKER of Co I (or J.) brought eleven of  us out of Ky and to 
Eagleville(crossed out) Triune Tenn. Where Lieut. SMISSON joined us.}
            From Perrville to camp Dick ROBBINSON, waided Cumberland Gap river 
and out of Kentuckey through Cumberland Gap, to Morriston Tenn, to Knoxville, 
then on cars to Chattanooga, but the cars were wrecked at this end of the 
tunnel near Cleavland and seventeen were killed and sixtyseven wounded in the 
regiment..
