back to Tunnel Hill and had a fight on rockeyface mountain. We piled up a line 
of big rocks along our line on top of the mountain and when the yankees would 
charge rolled the rocks down on them and the rocks would knock trees and 
everything down in their descent, they flanked us and we fell back to Daton, to 
Resacca, and had a fight in the ditches, to New Hope Church (Dallas) where my 
father lost an arm, to Kennesaw mountain and fought some days, fell back to 
Atlanta crossing the river on a pontoon,
fought all around there , to Jonesburrow and fought one day, could see Atlanta 
burning that night as we fell back on Lovejoy, had a fight there, to Palmetto, 
back to Dalton, to Tunnel Hill, where we toreup, piled and burned the cross 
ties, and bent the iron railes across the burning ties, then to Lafayet Ala,
