P. Windham (1883) Wright Pleasant Windham was born May 4, 1846, at Double Branches in Barbour County,Alabama. After his education in the county schools, his main occupation was farming in Dale County. He intered the Confederate Army February 28, 1863, at Troy, Alabama, and served unti his discharge April 26, 1865, at Greennsboro, North Carolina. From 1904 until 1910 he served as Probate Judge of Dale County, and in 1912 he was Dale County Treasurer. He was also a member of the local Masonic Lodge. On January 1, 1901, he married Mary Katherine McDonald,daughter of Daniel and Sarah (Curry) McDonald of Dale County. He was the father of two children: Aubrey P. and Sarah.
