Goff. His grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Aman Goff and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Weeks, all of Ozark. He served on the Ozark City Council ten years and as a member of the Ozark Fire Departnent eight years. He was Coroner of Dale County for a number of years, and also a member of the Dale County Demoratic Executive Committee from Beat One. He was Ozark's Chief of Police for six years prior to his election as Mayor. He is presently serving as 1st Vice-President of The Alabama Peace Officers Association, and Is a member of the Bogardus S. Cairns chapter of the Association of the United States Army. He is also a member of the Southside Baptist Church. In 1938 he married Willie Starling of Midland City, and they have one daughter, Grace. Mayor Goff's great grandfather, Mr. J. W.
