This business has been built on its owner's confidence in Ozark's progress and prosperity. Back in 1933 when the shadow of depression still hung darkly, Mr. S. S. Dominey believd so strongly in his home-town's future that he secured the Chevrolet agency and expanded his business when many others were folding or operating on a bare margin. Youthful enterprise sparked by a determination to help Ozark grow paid dividends, and in just a few years Mr. Dominey was faced with a need of expansion. The firm moved from its cramped quarters on U. S. 231 to the large building on North Merrick Ave., to increase its scope of service. The business grew on a sound basis for several years and was so strongly entrenched, that it came through the war years, when cars and trucks were limited to only a few, without any serious curtailment of operations. Shortly after the war the firm purchased an adjoining building and opened a Trim Shop, and a modern, well-equipped Body and Paint Shop. Mr. Dominey has had an almost infallible knack of gauging Ozark's growth and setting the pace, and the firm's latest expansion, judging by past performance, indicates that another prosperous business era is on the way. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Friendly Personnel Feature At Dominey Motor Company That Dominey Motor Company has grown into a big automobile business without losing any of the friendly atmosphere of the old-time neighborly garage is due in large measure to the close acquaintance its personnel has with the public it serves. It is a firm of friendly faces and each employee has contributed to the popularity and confidence which it enjoys in this section. Mr. Oliver D. Kingsley, Service Manager, has been with the firm for a number of years. His connection with Dominey Motor Co., was interrupted during the recent war when he was in the service, but he returned to his position as soon as he was discharged at the close of hostilities. Mr. Kingsley is a trained man in his field and his thorough knowledge of his duties keeps the big organization in the shops going without Interruption. Mr. F. B. Spears, parts manager and his assistant, Mr. Milton Ezell, keep properly cataloged and stored the tremendous stock of parts and accessories for this firm. Mr. J. W. Peters has been connected with Dominey Motor Co., for a number of years. During the war when auto agencies were limited to the minimum in the number of cars and trucks they could get, Mr. Peters was engaged in war project work. He was employed by J. A. Jones Construction Co., at the time Camp Rucker was built and remained with that firm until last year, working on Pacific island bases after the war. Miss Sarah Helen Riley, accomplished daughter of Mrs. M. C. Riley of this city is the firm's competent bookkeeper, The personnel of the mechanical department Includes: K. W. Weeks, Dexter Andrews, J. C. Lunsford, F. G. Dorsey. R. R. Weeks, W. E. McClendon, Edward Hursct, Grady Rhymes, M. L. McLeod. ~~~~~~~ Dominey Motor Co., Built by B.F. Williams Construction Co. The B. F. Williams Construction Company of Ozark, contractors, point with pride to the new Dominey Motor Co., building as one of the outstanding construction jobs they have performed in this section. Mr. B. F. Williams selected with exacting care all sub-contractors for this job and he does not hesitate to say that the Dominey Motor Co., building is the finest oo its-kind in Alabama. ~~~~~~~~~ Ozark Business Interests Proud Of New Chevrolet Bldg. Ozark business interests congratulate Mr. S. S. Dominey upon the opening of his new building. Business leaders here are proud of the magnificent new building, and a large section of this week's Star Is devoted to congratulatory expressions from friends and neighbors. The Star invites its readers to read carefully the entire section devoted to the opening of Dominey Motor Co.'s new home. ~~~~~~ Chevrolet Officials Will Attend Opening Dominey Motor Co.
