The beautiful three story structure is built upon the old church lot, on Main Street. The architecture is semi-classic. The building has 22 Sunday School rooms, three assembly rooms, for Sunday School departments capable of comfortably caring for over 200 people. The church auditorium seats 250 and a balcony provides seating space for an additional 75. Other compartments of the building are: Pastor's Study, Kitchen, Pantry, Storage room, six closets, three toilets, two dressing rooms, drinking founts on each floor, and a large social room. The building is heated and cooled with the latest patented Webster system. The Board of Deacons, composed of Messrs. A. L. Jones, Chm., T. A. Morton, R. A. Jones, and W. S. Balkcom, acted as the building committee and they have performed their duties in a most commendable manner. Mr. Roy A. Jones is financial agent for the church. In this connection it is learned that Mr. Clarence Beckham, who was killed August 19th in a tragic manner near Newton, was a deacon and a member of the church building committee.
