Wednesday, May 9, 1888 Page Three Married At the residence of Eld. Lee Hancks on last Sunday morning, the holy bonds of matrimony were executed between Mr. L.P. Carroll and Miss Lou Edwards, Eld. J.W. Parker officiating. At about 10 o’clock a.m. the conjugal knot was tied between the above named, the contracting parties pronouncing them husband and wife. Quite a number of friends and relatives of the fair couple were present to witness the scene of their passing from single life into connubial bliss and double blessedness. After which quite of number of those present, repaired to the residence of Mr. Willis Carroll, a couple of miles from our little city the father of the groom, where all was served with a good and wholesome repast. The evening was spent quietly, in conversing with the young couple and friends, making it an enjoyable occasion. Mr. Carroll was born and reared in this county, and from one of the oldest and best respected families, noted for their integrity and honesty and has won for himself, quite a business reputation being one among our most prosperous young men. His many friends feel delighted that he succeeded in winning the hand and heart of such an amiable and estimable lady to pass with him through this life of tolls. Miss Edwards, who we learn is from one of the first families of the State of Ga., came into our midst about two years ago, who has won for herself an enviable reputation noted for her congeniality ladyship and sweetness of disposition, long to be remembered by her numerous friends both young and old. We heartily congratulate each party on their success and extend our best wishes, that life may never prove a burden, but continue to be a charm filled with love and kindness which will cause all Heaven and happy constellations to shed their select influence and earth to give her best congratulations.
