George Thomas Hughes was the son of Casper "Smith" Hughes and Mary C. Ham. He
was born September 19, 1875 in Perry County, Alabama, and died July 22, 1949 at
his home in Selma, Dallas County, Alabama. He died from complication of
Asthma.He married Rosa Geneva "Jenny" Dunkin about 1899. She was the daughter of
James Henry Dunkin and Mary Winnie Morton Dunkin. She was born March 9, 1884,
and died December 14, 1950 in Selma, Dallas County, Alabama. She died from heart
failure.

They had three children:
Mary Ada Hughes married George Houston Ham
Zackery Sewell "Jack" Hughes married (1) Edna or Josie Earle Worrell (2) Naomi
Adams
Charles E. Hughes married Lelia Mae Frith
