We, William Updike and wife, Susan, Thomas Allday and wife, Elizabeth, William Sheffield and wife, Penelope, Lewis Baggett and wife Nancy, all of Dallas Co., Alabama, Leah Small, Rebecca Small and James H. Westbrook, guardian of Elijah, Daniel and Ann and Dolly (minors) and James Welsh, guardian of George Small (minor), said infant or minor heirs being heirs of Lewis Small, deceased, appoint Zaccheus Brown of Jones Co., NC., attorney, to receive estate due us as the widow and heirs of Lewis Small, deceased, especially any money the office of Clerk of Equity may have from sale of certain real estate. N. B. Moore, Judge of lst Judicial circuit of Alabama - C. W. Rapier, Judge of 6th Judicial circuit of Alabama, certified to signatures of above parties. John A. Their children were Lewis d. before 1850, Nancy, George, Elijah, Ann M., Frances A. (f), Daniel, & Dollie Small.
