In the name of God, Amen.
    
I, Benjamin Rogers, a farmer of the county of Dallas and state of Alabama. I 
resigned my soul to God and commit my body to the dust from whence it iminated 
and being of sound mind, disposing memory, and not knowing when or how soon it 
may please Almighty God to take me from this world. I think it best to make 
and declare this to be my last will and testament.

First It is my wish and desire that all my just debts be paid.
    
Second  I give, desire and bequeath to my beloved wife, Penelope Rogers, my 
house and farm in Section 14, Township 15 and Rage 8----containing in all four 
hundred acres, and my household and kitchen furniture, and all my mules, oxen, 
hogs and cattle of every description, my buggy, harness, wagons, and all my 
farming emplements, to have and to hold the same to her for and during her 
natural life, and at her death to be sold and divided equally between my 
children.

Lastly, I do nominate and appoint my said wife, Penelope Rogers, to be 
Executrix of my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I, the said Benjamin Rogers, have to this last will and 
testament subscribed my name and affix my seal this 3rd day of January, one 
thousand eight hundred seventy (1870)

Benjamin Rogers, was born Nov. 14 1784, in Charleston S C, d. April 10, 1870, 
in Dallas Co Al.  Benjamin, married Penelope West.
